I’m Mel—the person behind Shift & Grind. I started this brand because the people I know work hard, talk straight, laugh at things they probably shouldn’t, and refuse to waste a perfectly good weekend sitting still.

Why Shift & Grind?

Because most “workwear” forgets the best part: the personality under the hard hat. Shift & Grind is for loggers, operators, mechanics, builders, lawn crews, weekend riders, anglers and anyone else who knows that a clean truck is suspicious and a quiet weekend is usually a wasted one.

I wanted to make gear that feels like an inside joke at the tailgate—sharp enough to wear anywhere, tough enough to survive real life, and funny enough to make the right people snort-laugh.

Made for real life

Every design starts with the culture around the job, not a generic clip-art idea of it. The details matter. The joke has to land. The shirt has to feel good. And if I wouldn’t give it to one of my own people, it doesn’t belong here.
